GARDAR EIDE EINARSSON
PORTRAIT

Born in Norway, Gardar Eide Einarsson lives and works between New York and Tokyo. His protean work (paintings on canvas and walls, installations, photographs, flags, flyers, etc.), is mostly known for disrupting different Western cultural references – graffiti, comics, skateboarding, tattoos and Punk music.
Mostly in black and white, his work plays on the disconnection between social symbols and artistic vocabulary. The aim is not to elevate these forms of expression to the level of art, but to question today’s society and the status of contemporary work.

Gardar Eide Einarsson is a well-known artist whose work has already been shown in many world renowned galleries and museums, and featured in numerous art publications.
