In the 80s Yves Saint Laurent creates the first fashion show featuring black models.
Yves Saint Laurent became the first designer to use ethnic models in his runway shows, and referenced non-European cultures in his work. In a 2008 W magazine, Mounia said : "I was his first black muse… He helped open the door for black models. Sometimes I was his confidante, and I would sometimes inspire his creativity."
